Internet Ad Spend Set To Reach £266m
According to a report by Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, UK ad spend on the Internet is set to grow from £4m in 1996 to £266.8m by 2001.
This forecast is based on two predictors: that there will be a six-fold increase in UK Internet users along with an 11-fold increase in the level of adspend per UK user. This reflects a growing number of web sites which will be carrying advertising combined with an increase in the time spent on-line from 2.8 hours per week at present to 9.5 hours by 2001. Adspend per subscriber is predicted to increase from £2.7 to £63.3.
