Appointments At The Radio Authority

Chris Smith, culture secretary, has made three new appointments to the radio authority.

David Witherow, Sheila Hewitt and Feargal Sharkey are the newcomers to the group, and the appointments will be for 5 years from 1 December 1998.

Chris Smith commented:”All three of these people came forward after we advertised for new members of the Radio Authority in the national media for the first time. I am delighted with the response to the advertisements and the fact that they have resulted in such high calibre appointments.”
