Changes At IPC

After the departure of its editor in August (see Newsline), the IPC title Muzik has found a replacement for the position in the form of Ben Turner.

Ben Turner is the youngest-ever editor at IPC, at the tender age of 24. He has been with IPC since 1989, when he was taken on for work experience, and for the past year has combined the role as associate editor of Muzik with a career in the record label business.

Ben said of his new responsibilities: “As a co-founder of the magazine it is great to be able to lead it into the next phase of its development.”

IPC has also announced that Rene Carayol, IT director and chief information officer, is to take on board responsibility for New Media from now on. New Media Group created sites such as nme.com, uploaded.com and ipc.co.uk.

Chief executive Mike Matthews said of the development: “It has become increasingly clear that there is a great deal of synergy between New Media and the IT Group in terms of common skills and services available. There are also significant opportunities for the IT Group to add values to the activities of New Media.”
