Future Publishing Seeks London Stock Exchange Listing

Future Publishing, producer of home computing and video game magazines, has today announced that it is to seek a listing on the London Stock Exchange in June. The float is expected to be valued at around £500 million.

In connection with the listing, a new company is being formed – The Future Network – which will include all of Future’s UK and European and Imagine’s US businesses. Future acquired US magazine and internet publisher, Imagine Media earlier this month (see Newsline)

The sale is expected to raise around £165 million for Future and selling shareholders, and the float is being sponsored by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. Commenting on the floatation, Greg Ingham, Future’s chief executive, says: “Achieving a listing at this time will leave us well placed to maximise the potential of our existing businesses and will enable us to capitalise on the numerous opportunities that exist to develop Future into a world leading magazine and internet media group.”
