Highbury House Acquires Marketing Database Group
Magazine publisher Highbury House has today announced the acquisition of Wyvern Crest, the data management and marketing service. Highbury, owner of Total Style and Women’s Health, acquired Wyvern for £3.75 million.
Wyvern manages and markets database lists owned by its clients. The group sells the rights to use the data, which includes e-mail address lists, to allow advertisers to reach prospective clients though email instead of through costly direct mail sent though the post.
Earlier this year, Highbury announced the formation of a joint venture company, Internet Advertising (see Newsline), which will enable the group to publish magazines on the internet.
Ian Fletcher, chief executive of Highbury House, commented: “I am delighted that we have been able to acquire this successful business which we believe has exciting growth prospects. The combination of Wyvern and our recently formed Internet Advertising joint venture represents an exciting opportunity for the further development of the group.”
