Future Acquires German Publishing Group For £8m

Magazine and internet publishing group, Future Network, has acquired German publisher Weka Consumer Medien for £8 million. The purchase is complementary to Future’s operations as both groups publish PC and video games magazines.

The acquisition of Weka Consumer Medien continues Future’s international expansion. In May this year the group bought US magazine and internet publisher Imagine Media. The combined group became the world’s largest computing and games magazine and internet publisher.

Future Network last month floated on the stock exchange and was valued at 385p per share or £577.5 million (see Price Set For Stake In Future). Included in Future’s portfolio are PC Gamer and Official Playstation Magazine.
