Saatchi & Saatchi Reports Dip In Revenue
The UK division of Saatchi & Saatchi, the worldwide advertising and marketing agency, reported a decrease in its ongoing revenue during 1999. It fell by 1.2% to £57.5m as accounts lost due to conflict situations were not totally offset by new business gains.
The group as a whole had a successful year, however, with pre-tax profits rising 25% to £35.5 million. Last year the chairman of the worldwide group, Bob Seelert, set a 25% earnings per share (EPS) target for 1999 (see Saatchi & Saatchi Chief Sets 25% EPS Growth Target For 1999). As a whole the group beat this target, with EPS, excluding exceptional items, increasing by 34.2% to 10.6p.
