Teamtalk Tipped As Atlantic Buyer

Sports internet and radio business Teamtalk is thought to have won the bidding for Atlantic 252. A report published in last weekend’s Sunday Telegraph suggested that a price of around £5m had been agreed for the radio station put up for sale by owners RTL and RTE earlier this year.

Teamtalk has refused to comment on the speculation, saying that any announcement would appear through the usual channels.

If the rumours turn out to be true, music radio station Atlantic 252 will be a considerable addition to Teamtalk’s radio operations. Teamtalk’s current activities include the supply of sports radio content to independent radio stations and the production of in-store radio programmes for Asda and Ladbrokes, an activity which was expanded with the acquisition of in-store radio company Hampson Radio earlier this year.
