IPC Unloads Uploaded

IPC has signed a deal with Sports.com to redirect users of the recently suspended uploaded.com to the Megastar.co.uk website.

Users visiting the uploaded site, which was suspended last month as part of IPC’s review of its online business strategy (see IPC Closes Online Business), will be able to click through to the Sports.com owned Megastar.co.uk, which offers similar content to the online version of IPC’s Loaded magazine.

MegaStar editor, Paddy O’Clery, said; “We’ve watched closely the development of uploaded.com alongside MegaStar and we’re delighted to welcome all uploaded users to the site which already has 500,000 regular users.”

IPC Ignite’s publishing director, Richard Johnstone, added: “The closure of uploaded.com is not the end of Loaded‘s online presence. Suspending the site will allow us time to re-group, focus on the magazine brand and investigate the opportunities that have arisen since our announcement.”

Beme.com and unmissabletv.com were also suspended as part IPC’s programme to rationalise its portfolio of internet brands.
