The Sunday Express is to launch a new supplement on September 19, stealing the thunder of the Mail on Sunday’s supplement out on October 10.

The new section will be in addition to the existing magazine and second inserted section which carries theatre and book reviews. The new section will carry editorial on food, motoring, fashion, home and travel as well as topical features.

Ad director, Chris Morris, told MediaTel that the supplement will be more stylish and with more of a quality feel than the rest of the paper. The supplement will be 40 pages, 25% of which will carry ads. It will be the same size as the Guardian Weekend.

The Sunday Express is to put up its cover price 5p to 65p on 12 September.

Both The Daily and Sunday Express are launching a new game, Concorde, on the weekend 11 September to run for 4 weeks The prize is a trip to New York on Concorde. The game will be supported by TV advertising.
