Jazz FM To Broadcast Digital Concert

Jazz FM has announced that its first digital outside broadcast will be aired on digital multiplexes owned by the MXR group and will transmit to a potential 25 million digital listeners across the UK.

The concert, which will take place on 23 February, is the first in a series of digital events planned by Jazz FM and will be broadcast exclusively to DAB digital radio listeners in the North East, North West, West Midlands, South Wales and the West.

MXR’s marketing director, Diane Wray, said: “We are delighted that Jazz FM has committed to this first outside broadcast. With the cost of DAB digital radio sets falling fast, digital exclusives such as these will bring fans of various music genres increased listening choice with superlative sound quality.”

Last week Jazz FM and digital radio group MXR, whose members include Chrysalis Radio, Capital Radio and Guardian Media Group, announced plans to promote the availability of digital radio on the sleeves of CD’s sold by Jazz Enterprises, a division of Jazz FM (see MXR And Jazz FM To Promote Digital Radio).
