International publisher, Future Network, was seen in focus in Friday with shares rising by 0.78% after announcing that encouraging sales of magazines should enable it to post an increase in revenues for 2003 (see Future Network Stays On Track With Trading Update).

Emap also continued to attract attention with stock climbing by 1.56% amid reports that outgoing chief executive of its radio department, Richard Schoonmaker, is planning to team up with venture capital companies to mount a bids for a radio group (see Schoonmaker Steps Down As Emap Performance Boss).

Market information provider, Taylor Nelson Sofres rose by 3.48% on Friday after revealing that it is confident that 2003 turnover will meet expectations. It also stated that its performance will mirror the industry as a whole in the coming year (see Taylor Nelson Looks To Build On 2003 Successes).

The broader media market also considered news that Conrad Black, chairman of Hollinger International, could step down from his posts at the troubled media firm by the end of this week (see Black Could Be Ousted As Hollinger Chairman).
