Omnicom Shows Interest In AMV

American advertising group, Omnicom, is believed to be making preparations to buy leading British agency Abbott Mead Vickers (AMV). Omnicom currently owns a 27% stake in the agency and now that the initial standstill agreement has been taken off, is free to purchase the company outright. Shares in AMV rose to 465p last week when it announced pre-tax profits of £4.72m (Newsline 15/3).
