London International Television Ltd is set to launch a new broadcast and IPTV channel on the Sky Digital platform next month, designed to appeal to entrepreneurial and business-minded viewers.
The Business Channel will broadcast for 18 hours a day and will aim to feature a wider spectrum than established financial news channels. The station will house a diverse selection of original and acquired programmes, covering education, makeovers, Reality, magazine shows, information, feature films, mini-series and documentaries. .
The channel is the creation of executive director and former BBC executive producer Martin Everard and is designed for more broad appeal than other services of its kind.
TBC will be hoping to capitalise on the growing popularity of business entertainment formats such The Apprentice and Dragon’s Den. The schedule is also intended to draw comparison with a cross section of Sunday broadsheet pages.
Digital Media Sales has been appointed to handle advertising sales for the channel. “We are delighted to be working with London International Television on the launch of such a great channel,” said John De Napoli, managing director of Digital Media Sales.

Programmes available to air at launch of TBC include Back to the Floor, Blood On The Carpet, Trouble At The Top, and a section from the money programme and the Open University.
