Milton Keynes Citizen Top Paper
The Milton Keynes Citizen has been named Britain’s biggest and best free newspaepr in the Newspaper Society’s Free Newspaper of the Year Awards for the second year running.
This year there were two categories for the top award; Free Newspaper of the Year (less than 40 pages), which was won by the Brighton and Hove Leader, and Free Newspaper of the year (more than 40 pages) which was won by the Citizen. Particularly praised were the paper’s supplements. It also won awards for the Best Free Newspaper in the South East and for the Most Unusual or Successful Revenue Producing Idea (with its publication Breakout.)
The Community Award went to the Barnet Borough Times; the Belfast Newsletter took the Best Advertisement Feature (with editorial) award for their catwalkfeature; the Derby Trader’s Grand National Feature won the award for Best Composite Advertisement Feature (without editorial.)
