UKTV History is to relaunch next Monday as Yesterday, accompanied by a new website, visityesterday.co.uk.
The channel, which aims to present history in a more accessible form, will go live at 9am via Freeview, Sky Digital and the Virgin Media cable platform.
The channel proposition and name was developed in-house, with Red Bee creating its on-screen identity, which includes 15 different variations of its logo.
It is the latest UKTV channel to be rebranded, following entertainment channels as Dave, GOLD, Watch and Alibi and factual stations Eden and Blighty (see UKTV’s new Blighty launches with Ted Baker partnership).
Matthew Littleford, UKTV Controller said: “Yesterday sets out to redefine what a history channel can be about. We promise to deliver a channel packed with shows that offer a more inclusive, accessible and entertaining approach to the past.
“This change adds to the excitement already created by our new brands Eden and Blighty and together our three new factual channels will be a major draw for audience into the documentary section of the EPG.”
