LBC Calls In Receivers

LBC has gone into receivership, it has been revealed today. No one at LBC was available for comment; although the board has relinquished control the two LBC stations will continue to broadcast as normal.

This news comes a few weeks after Dame Shirley Porter resigned as Chairman of the london station. The station loses its licence in October.

A formal statement is expected from LBC later.

COMMERCIAL NOMINATIONS

Commercial radio services have received 18 nominations in the 1994 Sony Radio Awards. Winners will be announced in London on 27th April.

Capital Radio and Forth FM/Max AM (Edinburgh) head the commercial contenders with four nominations each. Capital has two for its early evening news programme “The Way It Is.” BRMB FM, Downtown Radio, Piccadilly Key 103, Southern FM, Piccadilly Gold, Viking FM, 2CR FM, Classic Gold, Classic FM, Atlantic 252 and Festival Radio have also been nominated.
