Sir Peter Walters, the former BP chairman appointed to the board of Saatchis by Maurice Saatchi said yesterday that “he could not conceive” of Maurice rejoining the board. He said that the proposal for reconciliation made by Charles at the weekend was unworkable because shareholders and employees were opposed to Maurice rejoining.
Any hopes of a truce were further crushed by the issuing of a writ by Maurice Saatchi yesterday claiming damages because his contract was “unlawfully terminated”.
Saatchis shares were at 117p at 11am this morning.
