Jones International, the American cable company, will be launching its package of computer and technology programmes for the British cable market this Autumn. Jones Computer Network is the first offering from the company to the European market.
Jones International will be launching Knowledge TV (KTV) across Europe from next year and will cover issues on computers, technology, business, careers, finance, global issues and health. Jones also hope to launch the Jones Internet Channel which will provide Internet connections through the cable network.
Demonstrations are taking place at the European Cable Communications Show on October 17.
…NYNEX Cablecomms has announced the implementation of a £25m state-of-the-art customer billing computer system. The investment allows NYNEX to support the much speculated introduction of interactive new media products such as the Internet.
The Integrated Customer Management System (ICMS) has been developed over the last two years by IBM for NYNEX. John Killian, president and chief executive of NYNEX said: “The advantages ICMS brings will be a major factor in achieving success in the multi-media future. We are now positioned operationally to offer truly individual services to our customers.”
