Overseas Opportunities For UK Publishers

Overseas Opportunities For UK Publishers

On May 8th UK magazine publishers are to have the opportunity to quiz key figures from the rapidly developing marketplaces of India, South Africa and Poland in a series of ‘export clinics’ organised by PPA.

The meetings are designed to enable UK firms to maximise their export potential and will provide publishers with information regarding publishing overseas. This will include in-depth discussions about particular marketplaces and the country-specific rules and regulations that apply.

Experts available will include Mohini Bhullar, executive director of marketing of India Today, Teresa Pugh, director of Polish consumer magazine publisher Dom Widawniczy BB&P, and Nicholas Leonsins, chief executive of South African Penta Publications.

International links will also be a key part of the programme of Magazines ’96 on 7th May, with the export clinic speakers joining Denis Conlon of Miller Freeman and Colin Reeves Smith of IPC Magazines for discussions at a plenary session, New Markets, New Opportunities.

The conference, sponsored this year by BPC Magazines, is expected to draw an audience of more than 800 magazine publishing industry personnel, advertisers, agencies and industry suppliers.
