LBC TO BID FOR NEW LICENCE
Last night Dame Shirley Porter, LBC’s chairman, told a public meeting called to save LBC that it would not mount a legal challenge to the Radio Authority’s decision to remove its licence. Instead LBC will bid for one of the new FM frequencies to be advertised next year by the authority.
A judicial review would take too long, be too expensive and be unlikely to change the final decision, the rally was told. Lady Porter said that the best way to continue broadcasting was to put all their efforts into their application for the new franchise.
