The Digital Multiplex Group, encompassing the BBC and the BBC’s commercial arm, BBC Worldwide, ITV, Channel 4, Carlton Communications, Granada and International CableTel, have formed a coalition which aims to facilitate a smooth passage for the introduction of digital terrestrial television within the UK.
The Digital Multiplex Group of potential investors is coordinating the project, to ensure that each stage is being reached on time and software is developed that is fully compatible with emerging digital broadcasting technology.
Digital terrestrial services will be launched in the UK by July next year.
