Granada Group this morning announced six month financial results to March 1997 which show that pre-tax profits have risen 33% to £243 million while turnover increased 34% to £2.03 billion.
Among the Group’s interests its media activities produced profits of £89.3m, which is up 13% on last year. This puts media third among Granada’s four interest both in terms of amount of profit and growth in profit. Hotels brought in £116m in profit (up 351%), Restaurants £97m (up 53%) and Rental £63.5m (up 4%). Granada’s net ad revenue showed growth of around 7%, which is in line with ITV as a whole.
