The British Academy of Film and Television Arts last night awarded Coronation Street the prize for a Significant and Popular TV Programme, while Eastenders won Best Drama Series.
Best Drama was Hillsborough, Best Drama Serial was Our Friends in the North, Best Light Entertainment was Shooting Stars and Best Comedy was voted as Only Fools and Horses.
…Cold Feet, the ITV comedy starring Helen Baxendale, has won the overall prize at the Monteaux television festival. It won both the Silver Rose for comedy and the Golden Rose for best programme.
