More Calls For Changes To Ownership Rules

The Chairman of Trinity plc, Peter Graf, has called for a change in the rules regarding media ownership. In an article for the Newspaper Society’s NS News, Mr Graf states that regional newspapers are being subjected to specific ownership regulations which restrict their natural growth as businesses.

In his article Mr Graf also says that any new legislation would need to take into account the state of today’s ‘media landscape’. Mr Graf’s comments come soon after similar suggestions were made by the GWR Group, who wish to see the existing 15% maximum audience raised to 20% (see Newsline).

Trinity recently acquired Amra for £1.6 million (see Newsline).
