TV Revenue – July 1998
Agency estimates for July 1998 put total terrestrial TV ad revenue at £148.45 million, with year on year rises for ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and a loss for GMTV.
ITV’s total revenue was up by 2.3%, C4’s rose by 2.8%, and C5 revenue rose by 13.4% year on year. GMTV continues to lose ad revenue, this time down by 16.8% on July 1997.
In terms of share amongst the ITV franchises, Carlton has suffered the greatest loss of share down by 1.12% points to 16.44%. The other regions’ shares remained fairly steady year on year; Yorkshire/Tyne Tees rose by 0.51% points.
