The Mirror Group has said that it will be closing its Sporting Life title on 12 May and incorporating it into the Racing Post . It is expected, however, that the title will reappear some time in the Autumn as a general sports daily. Over 100 staff have been made redundant as part of the move.
It is only four months since the Mirror Group took over the Racing Post and appointed People editor Len Gould to take responsibility for the Sporting Life (subscribers see Mirror Group Takes On Racing Post).
