Sky Networks Loses General Manager

Bruce Steinberg, general manager of Sky Networks, announced his resignation yesterday. Although remaining within the broadcasting company as a consultant, he is leaving to pursue other opportunities. The news follows a spate of resignations at the group which began with the loss of chief executive Mark Booth in April (see Mark Booth Leaves BSkyB For New Media Company)

Managing director of Sky Networks Elizabeth Murdoch said: “Bruce Steinberg has made a fantastic contribution to Sky during his three years with us. He has been a key member of the team which has transformed our movie and entertainment services.”

It was also revealed that former BSkyB executives Ian West and David Chance have joined US group Intertrust Technologies which has developed technology to allow media companies to prevent users from illegally copying their content.
