EMAP Online Appoints Marketing Head

EMAP Online has poached the acting head of marketing at BBC Online to become the group’s first marketing manager. Andrew Warner will take responsibility for all marketing operations for EMAP Online’s travel, music and entertainment websites, which include a2btravel.co.uk and www.aloud.com. Warner will also work on the group’s joint Net projects with EMAP Radio and the wider EMAP group.

Commenting on the appointment, EMAP Online’s managing director, Roger Green, says: “In a rapidly expanding UK market we have recognised the need to build and extend our leading online brands. Andrew is an experience marketeer, with solid new-media credentials; I am delighted that he has chosen to join EMAP.”

Warner will be reviewing EMAP’s advertising arrangements with both the consumer and trade press, along with the promotion and publicity activities. “The marketing challenge is to establish each site as the market leader in its sector,” he says.
