FA Cup Football Overnights
According to unofficial overnight figures, the 3rd round of the FA Cup has proved popular with viewers. ITV’s Port Vale v Liverpool match was the most watched over the weekend, with nearly three times the audience of Sky’s match between Manchester United and Middlesbrough.
ITV achieved a television rating of 9, which is an audience of 4.93 million, while Sky had a rating of 3 or a audience of 1.64 million. Sky’s Monday night between Arsenal’s match and Preston North End had a rating of 2 or an audience of 1.09 million.
Sky has announced that it will again feature Manchester United in the 4th round of FA Cup, showing their 12 o’clock match against arch rivals Liverpool. ITV has decided to show Arsenal’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, a repeat of last year’s semi final. Both these matches take place on Sunday 24 January.
