DoubleClick And NetGravity Sign $530m Merger

Advertising solutions companies, DoubleClick and NetGravity, have this afternoon announced a $530 million (£340 million) merger deal. DoubleClick is a provider of internet advertising solutions for marketers and web publishers and NetGravity specialises in online advertising and direct marketing software solutions.

Commenting on the deal, Kevin O’Connor, CEO of DoubleClick, said: “Our goal has been to build the broadest possible infrastructure for internet advertising. Both companies have relationships with most major web publishers and advertisers domestically and internationally. NetGravity’s strengths combined with DoubleClick’s technology infrastructure will create a company uniquely positioned to be the overall leader in targeted advertising.”

The merged company will represent 27 of the top 50 US internet publishers. In the UK, DoubleClick handles online advertising for Freeserve (see DoubleClick To Sell Ad Space On UK’s Fastest-Growing ISP) and EMAP Online (see EMAP Consumer Online Hires DoubleClick To Sell Banner Ads).
