Capital And Chrysalis Plan Century Hand Over

Chrysalis and Capital Radio have reached an agreement for the handover of sales for the three regional Century Radio stations, following Capital’s successful acquisition of Border Radio Holdings (see Capital Radio Wins Battle For Border).

Don Thomson, commercial director of Chrysalis, expressed his regret at seeing the stations amalgamated with Capital Radio Advertising. “Having more than doubled Century Radio’s revenue in the past fifteen months, it is disappointing to bring our sales relationship to an end.” he said. “However, we wish Capital well.”

Paul Davies, group commercial director for Capital, also acknowledged the work that Chrysalis had done. “The Century stations have grown rapidly in a short time and have substantial potential for further audience and revenue growth. Chrysalis has undoubtedly played a very important part in their success.”

The sales teams have given themselves two weeks to make sure the transition does not affect business, before the official hand over date of 1 June.
