Score Wins Digital Licence For Edinburgh
The Radio Authority has awarded the local digital multiplex licence for the Edinburgh area to the sole applicant, Score Digital. Score, which is owned by Scottish Radio Holdings, will deliver digital programming and data services to the region, which has an adult population of around 1.1 million.
The group’s proposal consists of eight programme services for the area including Forth FM and AM services providing contemporary and adult hits, alternative station XFM, and a 45+ service from Saga Radio. BBC Radio Scotland will also be carried on the multiplex, which begins transmission in October 2000.
Score already owns the digital licence for Glasgow (see Score Digital Is Sole Bidder For Glasgow Digital Radio Licence) and has joined forces with GWR to bid for the second digital licence for London (see GWR And Scottish Radio Unite In London Licence Bid)
