TalkSPORT have signed CIS Insurance as sponsor of its new flagship football phone-in show, in a deal thought to be worth around £1m.
The deal will include sponsorship and airtime spots across talkSPORT’s Premiership coverage and will see CIS sponsor the station’s 505 Saturday afternoon phone-in show, which fields calls from football fans travelling back from matches. CIS will also sponsor the station’s Sunday post-match phone-in, 605.
TalkSPORT’s sponsorship manager, Adam Roland, said: “CIS knows that talkSPORT delivers a quality audience on Saturday afternoons. No other radio station can boast such a targeted audience of young, upwardly mobile men.”
CIS General manager, Martin Clarke, added: “We are very excited at the possibility of working with talkSPORT to promote CIS products and brand values through such a relevant property. 505 helps the paying public to have their say on the national game. This is increasingly important in an era when the sport at the highest level is dominated by big money.”
The deal is the first broadcast advertising contract for CIS, who is the current sponsor of the Scottish League Cup and has previously sponsored Blackburn Rovers.
TalkSPORT has also secured a deal with bookmakers William Hill, to sponsor its coverage of this season’s Premiership and England international games. The deal is thought to be worth around £100,000 and will run across the entire season.
