Go Racing have confirmed that a further 17 British racecourses have joined forces with the consortium (see Go Racing Gets Go Ahead For Racing Channel) following the expiry of its 11th May deadline.
The acceptances of 49 of the 52 British racecourses, which represent 90% of the total betting revenue marks the next significant stage in Go Racing’s plans to acquire the media rights to British racing. Go Racing plans to launch it’s internet website in the Autumn with a dedicated horseracing channel available from spring 2002. Christopher Stoddart, Go Racing’s Chief Executive Officer said, “We warmly welcome the additional racecourses and look forward to working with them through the launch period and beyond.”
