IPA Launches New Award Scheme For Creatives
![]()
The IPA has launched a new annual award scheme to honour the best creative talent, judging them by their performance at other industry awards throughout the year.
The new awards will be called the “Best Of The Best” and will be presented by one time advertising executive and veteran film director, Alan Parker.
IPA president, Bruce Haines, said: “The industry has an array of creative award schemes which recognise ‘best work’ in various parts of the media, but there isn’t one which rounds up our winners and then recognises the most consistently outstanding people. We feel it is appropriate that the IPA takes on the role of identifying and publicly recognising these creative champions. This is the idea behind the scheme.”
The awards will be judged by a a panel of creative directors and industry representatives, covering categories from best creative director to best typographer of the year. The nominees will be chosen from a shortlist of winners from previous industry awards and will be announced in September, with the award ceremony scheduled for 11th December.
Last year the IPA unveiled the excellence in continuous professional development scheme to reward the best people-development initiatives among IPA agencies (see IPA Reports Increase In Corporate Membership).
