IPA Census Counts Less Employees Than Forecast
![]()
The findings of the IPA Census for last year suggests that difficult times for the media industry is resulting in agencies employing a smaller number of people. The organisation has announced that its 2001 Census will report a figure of 14,000 people employed in 209 member agencies. This is a 4% decrease on the total of 14,600 expected by the IPA given the increase in the agency estate compared to 2000, when there were 196 member agencies, employing a total of 13,500 people.
IPA president Bruce Haines announced the figure at the IPA annual new year reception on 10 January. The full set of figures will be released on 28 January on the IPA website.
