IPC Ignite Plays A New Tune With Muzik

IPC Ignite is relaunching its club culture magazine Muzik in an attempt to attract a more serious dance music following.

The title, which saw circulation fall 7.3% year on year to 40,550, will relaunch on 13 March with a new logo, new typography and clearer signposting of sections. The magazine will increase in length and will include more in-depth dance features and an expanded reviews section.

The first issue will carry a cover-mounted CD and will be supported by a retail marketing and postcard campaign aimed at raising the magazine’s profile.

The music sector performed well in the last ABC results, with circulation increasing by 9% overall (see ABC Jul – Dec 2001 Music Titles). Emap’s Kerrang! was the biggest mover, with circulation rising 63.5% to 76,841, while Emap’s Mixmag and Ministry Of Sound’s Ministry saw circulation fall by 5.5% and 8.1% respectively.
