Elon Musk has made a U-turn on his offer to purchase Twitter, once again committing to purchase the social media company at his original offer price of $54.20 per share (around $44bn).
Twitter had sued Musk over his prior attempts to leave the deal; with the trial set to begin October 17.
Twitter’s stock surged over 22% on the news yesterday, bringing its share price to $52.00.
On the news, Musk tweeted: “Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app”.
