TRANSWORLD SPORT – FIRST ISSUE REVIEW

TRANSWORLD SPORT – FIRST ISSUE REVIEW

This Wednesday saw the (delayed) launch of the magazine following on from the C4 series, Transworld Sport.

The quarterly title has a cover price of £2.50 and an initial print run of 100,000. The first issue has pagination of 100. It is a glossy magazine, full of articles on a wide variety of international sports, as is the programme it accompanies.

The editorial includes features on Nick Faldo, Manchester United’s chances of winning in Europe, the New York Marathon, skiing, boxing, tennis and the Round the World Whitbread Race. There is also a complete list of allPremiership football fixtures and a full list of American football fixtures

Like Sports Digest, the other general sport title which launched last week, several of the features are written by well-known sports journalists from the national press.

The articles are detailed and informative; the magazine is very diverse, containing features on such a wide variety of sports that it should appeal to all-round sports enthusiasts.

21 out of the 100 pages carry ads with brands including Ray Bans, Stein- lager, Canadian Club, Fujicolour and an advertorial from Pharmaton.
