Magic Strengthens Programming Team

Magic Adrian Stewart has been appointed as programme director of Magic 105.4.

Stewart, who joined Magic in 2003, was previously acting station director and prior to that was deputy programme director.

Andria Vidler, managing director of Magic 105.4, said: “Adrian has more than proved himself worthy of this promotion by continually taking Magic to dizzier heights and continued success.

“Magic has now been number one commercial radio station in London for three quarters in a row, and also has the number one Breakfast Show in London for the first time, a massive achievement.”

In addition to Stewart’s promotion, there have been a number of internal promotions at Magic. Jon Stockdale, who has been working on Neil Fox’s breakfast show is confirmed as breakfast show producer; Sarah Mason has taken up the role of music scheduler and Jamie Edwards moves from breakfast to the role of station producer, ensuring that all listener interaction is of the highest standard.

Stewart said: “I’m delighted to become programme director. Magic is a great place to work and I am surrounded by a very talented team who work tirelessly to make the station sound even better than ever.

All these changes are designed to push Magic’s production values to a higher standard and help to maintain our position as London’s number one commercial radio station!”

The latest RAJAR figures, for the third quarter of 2007, show that Magic 105.4 was the top London station, with a weekly reach of more than two million listeners after a year on year boost of 24% (see Magic 105.4 Scoops London Top Spot With Over Two Million Listeners).

RAJAR figures for Q4 2007 are released on Thursday 31 January and NewsLine will be bringing you in-depth analysis of all the major stories.
