MTV is suing an ex video jockey for running an “MTV” bulletin board on Internet, the network that links computers across the globe. It wants to stop him using the MTV name for his gossip, entertainment news and music which he broadcasts. The service is free to users, but rock bands are charged to have their music posted in the electronic universe. The success of the service has drawn attention to the commercial potential of ‘the Net’.
