ITV Adds To Advertising

ITV has appointed Nicky Buss, client services director at WPP’s Research International, to the newly created role of advertiser development director, ahead of what analysts expect to be a summer advertising slump.

Buss’ experience includes television, agency work and direct client contact, which ITV feels will help her perform the dual roles of building relationships with advertisers and bridging the gap between ITV’s creative and commercial sides.

Ian McCulloch, commercial director for ITV said: “This is a crucial and pivotal role focused on building strong and successful relationships with our advertisers as well as shaping ITV’s offering within the commercial marketplace.”

ITV is shaping up for a tough summer, with predictions so far being that they face a decline in advertising revenue in June and July, even though it might have been expected that the World Cup would boost advertising income (see Billetts Forecasts Mild Growth In UK TV And Print Media).
