London Cable Channel Decision Delayed
The decision by the London Interconnect consortium of cable companies as to who will run their proposed London channel has been delayed again (News – 15/9). A choice may be made next week.
The French have complained to the EC that Britain is breaking a directive by allowing the TNT/Cartoon channel to broadcast on Astra; the EC require at least half of a network’s output to be European.
The government has rejected proposals for a three year cut in the £83 TV licence fee and will allow an inflation linked increase.
