The Independent has appointed Paula Williams as its first marketing director.
DAILY MAIL PROFITS
The Daily Mail and General Trust has revealed pre-tax profits of £24.0m for the 6-months to April 3. This compares against £21.0m for the same period last year, an increase of 14.2%. Turnover was up 11.9% to £368.3m.
Trading profit for the newspaper was up 15.7% to £42.8m and trading profit for the company’s other media interests, including radio, rose 100% to 2.4%.
