BBC Drops Cheltenham Coverage
The BBC has decided not to renew the contract to broadcast horseracing at Cheltenham, after the racecourse asked for a five-fold increase in its fee. It appears likely that Channel 4 will take up the contract, which includes the National Hunt Festival.
The Broadcasting Complaints Commission has upheld two complaints against Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast. It ruled that the programme had invaded the privacy of TV presenters Sarah Greene and Mike Smith and actor Robert Lindsay, when it had arrived at their houses unannounced and broadcast the events live.
