BBC World Service TV has issued a writ against News Corporation following disagreements over the expansion of global TV news. The writ follows a threat from Mr Murdoch’s lawyers that StarTV would terminate its 10 year contract with the BBC, if the BBC went ahead with its planned launch of an Arabic language TV news service for the Middle East early next year.
