TeleWest has revealed consolidated net losses of £68m for the 9-months to September 1995, an increase of 58% on the previous year. Revenue for the UK’s largest cable operator rose by 78% to £78.6m.
Cable television revenue increased by 60% to £40.2m, largely as a result of a 54% increase in the number of subscribers to 226,639 and a 2% increase in the average monthly cable television revenue per subscriber from £21.63 to £22.07.
TeleWest has now completed 50% of its broadband network and has a penetration of 21.4%. In October the company completed a merger with SBCC and it now holds 31 franchises covering 4.1m equity homes.
