BBC2 Autumn Schedule

The BBC2 Autumn schedule has been announced for 1995. Michael Jackson, BBC2’s channel controller has promised a schedule of “innovation and breadth”.

£66 million has been invested in the new schedule; it includes 84 new series which make up more than 500 hours of programming. New programming includes contemporary drama, comedy and entertainment, and new factual programmes.

Highlights for drama include: Degrees of Terror, The Ghost Busters of East Finchley, Performance, Love Bites and Priest. Entertainment sees a new comedy show for Steve Coogan, Mrs Merton, Mondo Rosso, and Shooting Stars – a comedy quiz show with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.

Music and arts sees TX, Cinema Europe – The Other Hollywood and a celebration of Purcell. New factual programmes include The Death of Yugoslavia, Nice Work, Doctors in the Dock and On The Road Again – which looks at the 60s hippy movement.
