Talk Radio’s New Schedule Starts Monday

Talk Radio’s newly revamped programme schedule starts next Monday. The changes which signify an end to its “shock jock” era included the axing of Caesar the Geezer and Terry Christian as presenters. Simon Bates will present the Breakfast show from 0700 to 1000, including Our Tune at 9.45am.

Jonathan King will follow Simon Bates, from 1000 to 1200; his show will feature topical guests as well as the presenter’s own “often controversial shows”. The drive time show will bet taken over by Scott Chisholm and Lowri Turner.

Ronnie Barbour replaces Terry Christian on Sunday evenings, and James Whale takes over Caesar the Geezer’s old weekday slot of 2200 to 0100.

… Ex Radio 1 DJs Bruno Brookes and Steve Wright have signed new contracts. Bruno Brookes is to present a new Saturday breakfast show for Metro Radio, and Steve Wright has signed a Sunday morning slot with GWR Group for its local stations.
